What is the purpose of IDEAL ACADEMY examinations?
Our examinations are more than a way to assign a grade. They are an educational tool designed to measure students’ progress and determine how well they have achieved the learning objectives and skills covered during their level.
Are examinations designed around what students have learned?
Yes. Each examination is carefully designed according to the student’s level, the targeted skills, and the content actually covered during the course. Assessment is not based solely on memorization or a single skill; it aims to measure how effectively students can apply what they have learned.
What does a level-end examination include?
The components of an examination vary depending on the level, program, and learning objectives. An assessment may include:
- A written and oral examination.
- A written and oral examination, together with a presentation.
Which language skills and areas are assessed?
Our examinations assess different aspects of language use, including:

This provides a more accurate and comprehensive picture of the student’s level rather than relying on a single overall grade.
How do you ensure fairness and objectivity during examinations?
We separate the student’s regular teacher from the examination and assessment process. A teacher who does not teach the group is assigned to invigilate the examination. Oral examinations and presentations are also assessed by a teacher other than the student’s regular teacher.
How does anonymous marking work?
Each examination paper is assigned a unique code. After the examination, the section containing the student’s name and surname is separated from the answer sheet, which is then provided to the grader using the code only.
As a result, the grader does not know the student’s identity during the marking process, and the grader is not the student’s regular teacher.
The aim is to ensure that the grade reflects the student’s performance in the examination, rather than the grader’s prior knowledge of the student.
Can students or parents view detailed results?
Yes. The Results Portal provides access to the overall result as well as the marks awarded for the different sections and skills assessed.
This allows students and parents to understand performance in greater detail rather than seeing only a final grade.
What can I access through the Results Portal?
Depending on the type of assessment, students and parents may be able to access:
- The examination paper.
- Detailed marks.
- The audio recording of the oral examination.
- The presentation recording.
- Teacher feedback and assessment comments.
- The student’s level and final result.
- A detailed score report.
- A certificate of achievement.
Does the platform include placement test results?
Yes. The platform also records placement test results for students who are joining the academy for the first time, as well as students returning to study after an interruption of more than three months.
Why is a placement test required?
A placement test helps us place students in the level and group that best match their actual abilities, rather than relying solely on their previous level or personal estimates of their proficiency.
How are examination results used after assessment?
We do not view an examination as the end of the learning process. Instead, we use assessment results as valuable data to:
